Largest Baseball Stadiums In The United States

Baseball has the largest audience, along with a huge market. There are some vast baseball stadiums in the country which you may not know about. Below, we will tell you about some of the best baseball stadiums in the United States.

Dodger Stadium

Dodger Stadium is one of the largest baseball stadiums in the USA. Situated in the Los Angeles city of California, the stadium has a seating capacity of fifty-six thousand people. It is one of the third oldest stadiums in the USA. It was the first Major League Soccer stadium which was built with fully private finance. The work of the stadium started in 1959, and it ended in 1962. It takes around $23 million to build the stadium which is now worth around $183 million. The stadium was built with a view to develop further seating capacity up to 85,000. However, the current capacity is around 56000 as the stadium is not expanded. Though built long ago, the Dodger Stadium is still one of the top stadiums for the baseball game.

Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum

The Oakland Alameda County Coliseum is also known as Oakland Coliseum. It is the last stadium in the country which has been used for both professional football and baseball games. The stadium is situated at Oakland of California. The stadium was the home stadium of Oakland Athletics of Major league baseball and Oakland Riders of NFL.  It was also the previous home venue of the San Jose Earthquakes of MLS. The construction of the stadium was started at 1962 but delayed groundbreaking to 1964. It is completed at 1966, and the Kansas City Athletics team relocated to the stadium as Oakland Athletics. It takes around $25 million to build the stadium which is equivalent to $192 million now. It has a capacity of more than 47,000, and it is expandable to 55,940 which makes it the second largest stadium in the country.

Yankee Stadium

The Yankee Stadium is the largest baseball stadium which is situated at New York City borough of Bronx. The stadium has a capacity of 47,309 which makes it the sixth largest stadium in the USA. The stadium was originally constructed at 1923, and it was the home of Bronx Bombers. The new Yankee stadium was built to replace the stadium with a cost of $2.3 billion. The construction of the stadium was started in 2006, but it takes several years to construct due to the fair share of controversy.

Turner Field

The Turner Field is one of the biggest stadiums of the country which is situated in Atlanta, Georgia. It was the home of Atlanta Braves during 1997 to 2016. The stadium has a capacity of 50,095 which makes it the third largest major league baseball stadium of the US until 2016. The stadium was mainly constructed for the summer Olympics games of 1996. The seating capacity of the stadium was more than 85,000. After the end of the Olympics, the field was turned in to a baseball stadium, and the seating capacity of the stadium has been reduced. After that, the stadium has been redesigned for the use of Panthers football team of Georgia State University as the Georgia Stadium.

There have been many stadiums built in recent years. But the Dodger Stadium is still the top stadium of the USA with enormous 56000 seating capacity.
